Some of my favourite makeup to do is special effects and more experimental/creative looks. I love all styles of makeup but I definately have a penchant for the weird and wonderful.
I thought I'd share some of my favourite experimental makeup looks I've done over the years.
This job was for a private boarding school near Guildford, they needed three students made up to look like statues for a Samuel Beckett play named...'play'. The makeup mainly consisted of liquid latex and tissue for the rough parts then lots of greasepaints.
This was my makeup for a friend and fellow makeup artist Michelle Webb's installation a couple of years ago. She came up with a bunch of different concepts then our team set to work making them happen. The gold was a liquid bodypaint, the mosaic effect was made with pieces of card and then I airbrushed the purple over the top. Originally her whole body was to be covered but this alone took about 4 hours and we ran out of time.
This was a zombie makeup for a Charlie Higson and Penguin books viral. I used a variety of sfx makeup products on this, Tuplast, liquid latex and greasepaints amongst other things. This was an especially great day as I'd been a fan of Higson since I was young so it was very cool to hang out with him.
This was one of the first jobs I ever did so it will always have a fond place in my heart. This took me hours to do as it is a full body makeup, front and back. For this I just used Makeup Forever greasepaints.

Amazing, I find it soo interesting seeing what you can do with makeup! The zombie makeup looks sooo scarily real!
